Hufflepuff

The loyalist house of them all: Hufflepuff. It is the most picked on and underestimated house. But we have many great witches and wizards who graduated from Hufflepuff such as Newt Scamander and Cedric Diggory. Hufflepuff was also the second most represented house in the Battle of Hogwarts. J.K Rowling herself has said Hufflepuff is her favorite house.

Hufflepuff is also known for food. Most of the recipes used for the feasts are Helga’s own recipes (according to her chocolate frog card). Which kind of makes sense, because badgers are said to have helped humans decipher which plants were safe to eat. There’s another connection between plants and Hufflepuff. Any ideas on what it could be? Professor Sprout was the past herbology teacher at the school! All the talk about food is making we wish I was in Hufflepuff. Oh well.

As I said earlier, Hufflepuff produced many great people. Newt, Tonks, Cedric, Professor Sprout, etc.. Nobody knows what house Mad-eye Moody was sorted into (not even the Ministry). But Mugglenet made an article about him in which they stated he was maybe a Hufflepuff. Deadpool is also said to be a Hufflepuff.

Cedric Diggory is definitely a good student. Best in his class. He died an extremely sad and unfortunate death. He was a very generous kid. He always seemed to be in a cheerful mood. The way he treated his competitors in the Tri-Wizard Tournament was very kind.

Newton Artemis Fido Scamander (or Newt Scamander) is another well-known Hufflepuff. There’s an idea that Hufflepuffs are good at funding things. I believe that came along as a joke, but I’m not positive. But that characteristic is fits him well. If you know what I mean.

Badgers very timid creatures, but become very feisty when they’re bothered or harmed. Hufflepuffs are excellent, dedicated servers, and they treat everybody the same. Hufflepuff is usually the most teased house, but come out as the second most represented house in the BoH. This is surely a great house. According to a traditional story from the Sioux says: if a bear goes to the badger’s abode and asks for some food, they’ll gladly give it to the bear. The badgers continue to give food regularly to the bear, but one day, after the bear is fulfilled, he goes and kills off the badger family.

Basically, Helga Hufflepuff is the grandmother we all want. She always reminds me of a jolly old lady who cooks big meals for the family and invites kids under her wing. She is also the one who let house-elves apply at Hogwarts. Here is one of her great quotes about treating students the same, despite their backgrounds.

“I’ll teach the lot, and treat them all the same.”

I know there’s loads of controversy and debate about equality. But we should strive to treat people the same. Even I have a hard time treating everyone equally. I have some people in my life that I have trouble with occasionally. Religion, politics, and race are some of the most common.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this. Stay tuned for my next discussion where I’ll be discussing Ravenclaw. Cheers mates!
