Ravenclaw

Ravenclaw is known for wisdom and intelligence. This is the house for smart people. It has produced many “famous”, I guess you, people throughout the ages, such as Mr. Ollivander, Professor Flitwick, the beloved Professor Trelawny, and even the dude who created the Floo Network. Back in the day, I was very knowledgeable, so I probably would have been sorted in the Ravenclaw. But now that I’ve grown and done the Pottermore quiz, apparently I’m a Slytherin.

Now, let’s talk about its history and meaning. The house’s founder was Rowena Ravenclaw. She was well known for her wisdom, creativity, cleverness, and charm. She was a pretty friendly person. Her first name means joy or friend. It is rumored that she sadly died of a broken heart. Ravenclaws element is air. That’s why its house symbol is an eagle, despite being called RAVENclaw. Let me talk about that.

There have been many debates in the fandom about the house’s symbol. People say the symbol is an eagle, while some say it’s a raven. When people say “Ravenclaw” they thing of a raven. It has been confirmed to be an eagle though.

As I said, there are/were some influential Ravenclaw alumni. Right now I’m going to talk about Garrick Olivander the wandmaker. He owned (I say “owned” because he’s probably dead now… R.I.P) a wand shop in Diagon Alley. Now this shop in ancient. It was established in 382b.c.! That’s like almost 4 thousand years ago.

Professor Filius Flitwick is the Charms professor and head of Ravenclaw House at the school. He is part human and part goblin which is kind of weird if you know what I mean…. He was, let us not forget, also a professional dueler back in his day.

Gilderoy Lockhart was a real big poopy face (excuse my language). He was almost as annoying as Professor Umbridge. He was a fraud and a criminal, and not to mention a lady’s man. He was a superstar when he “wrote” a new book called Magical Me, but his fame died out when he was busted for being a fraud.

My last Ravenclaw for you guys is… my boy Bob Ross!!! He is such a good painter that I can literally smell the happy little trees. He has a very captivating beard and afro. He also has a nice soothing voice you can fall asleep to. He’s pretty chill too.
